How did we get our start?
Founder Katie McCarron turned her nutritional eye to her aging poodle, Rosie, who had lost weight and interest in food. The unnatural supplements in commercial dog food shocked Katie. She began to cook homemade meals, expanding into more healthy dog and cat products.
What makes our products unique?
We believe you should feed your pets like you feed yourself! We also partner with Pacific Northwest companies to ensure that 100% of your pet’s food is sourced and made in the United States. We hand-roll and cut our biscuits and cook all meals from scratch.

High quality food that your pet will love.
My poodle loves this as a topper on her regular food! I like it because it is human grade food that stays fresh in the frig over a few days time and made with healthy ingredients. Win win!

Local is best, and this one is really worth the $
I live in the Pacific Northwest and have a young rescue dog who is not really food motivated. I have spent money on all kinds of quality commercial dog foods that dogs i owned in the past readily ate, but this one has walked away from or reluctantly eaten (after 36 hours). It is not good for her to starve herself, and although my motto is “They’ll eat if they are hungry” I saw her getting skinnier and skinner over time — for a young dog of about 2.5 years, that’s never good. I’ve had her checked out thoroughly and worked with her to reduce or eliminate phobias and behaviors she picked up as a street puppy. So after months of trial and error with those pricey national brands of wet and dry foods, I found the Portland Pet Food company. Like some of the other ‘national’ brands of pouched meals (hello Farmer, Ollie, and the like) Portland Pet Food is human grade meat, some kind of starch (potato, rice, yams or pumpkin) and one or two other vegetables like green beans and carrots. NO weird spices (one of the brands included cinnamon!) and very little added moisture, unlike brands that rely on ‘gravy’ to look appealing to the hoomans. So now I scoop a quarter cup of high-end kibble and a third of a pouch of Portland Pet Food into her bowl, give it a stir, and she’s ready to scarf it down. She’s still food bowl shy, a psychological scar she picked up at the massive dog rescue facility where she was placed with 70 other rescues on a ranch, but since I switched over to a different food twice a day, this little gal is progressing in a healthy way… and one day I can even dream of training her for Agility or Therapy.

Great Choice
My dog loved these, I mixed it in with his dry food and he gobbled it up. I will purchase more in the future when I have the money.

Dog with Cushing’s loves this
I have an almost 16 year old Shih Tzu with Cushing’s Disease. She has less of an appetite than she had, and she loves this food. I’m able to put holistic drops in it that keep her comfortable. Thrilled to find it. She deserves the best delicious food at this stage of her life, especially. We were making her food for years, but she was even tired of that, so Portland it is.

Good for tiny dogs but not picky eaters
The packets have a variety of different flavors, however my dogs did not really like any of them. They are very picky eaters. They do not like Just Food for Dogs either. But these are such small packets that one doesn’t even feed two 15 lb dogs. So I think it’s a bit overpriced. It lasted 4 days. And I had to mix it with chicken I had made.On the plus side they easily fit into my refrigerator.

My dogs love this food
I’m always looking for a good wet dog food to supplement my dogs dry kibble and I found it. This food looks good enough for me to eat, you can see actual beans and yams. The pouches are easy to open. Great product, I highly recommend.

The food seems very good in terms of ingredients but my 4m old puppy got ill when she tried the chicken meal. She vomited and started a diaria with blood on the stool. I will wait a while until i consider again
