The most common source of vehicle electrical surges results from a faulty alternator. The next most common surge is due to ESD Electrostatic Discharge and electromagnetic induced coupling.
Construction

Using a combination of TVS Diodes, MOVs and GDTs this surge protector has reaction speeds faster than 3ns and is capable of up to 150,000 amps of surge suppression. Old style TVSS surge protectors incorporated a separate green ground wire, this often resulted in what is called a “ground loop”. This ground loop can cause damage to the electrical system and at least create noise, this problem was only exacerbated at high delta V.

Should have got one of these awhile back
With how the world is going now, I figured now is the time to prep my vehicle from possible Russian nuclear attack/EMP from Russian nuclear weapons. I got it yesterday and it took about half hour to install it. The longest part was trying to find a close location to the vehicle’s battery and drill the holes into my vehicle’s inner body. After that, it was pretty easy to install if you follow the easy instructions. Surprised no actual ground wire was used, just 2 wires [for each battery terminal posts] and that is it. When I completed installing & wiring up this EMP protector to my vehicle, the 2 lights on the device ran its short 3 second test and both lights blink off & on steadily now, meaning the installation was correct and the battery was charged up fully. 5 stars for this device and I sure hope I never find out how well it works in an actual nuclear attack from anybody.

Small, compact, easy to install
I like how small it is I’m using it for a little bit different reason I’m using it on a portable generator which is battery operated and electric start. Instructions are easy to follow. It’s easy to set up and attach and with the solar flares, MRE’s and any other situation that might arise it’s just more protection for you and your car or generator.

Definitely Built to Last!
The product showed up on time and came in a small little white box. The unit was smaller then other units I have seen for sale which was why I decided to buy this one. Looking at the EMP defender unit itself the unit was sturdy and well made. In the box came a set of instructions that had important information about what systems this unit should be installed. It was easy to install this unit on my Landrover LR3 took me about 5 min. The 2 wire system had enough length for me to reach both positive and negative terminals on the battery. Overall I will have to say this little unit seems to have been designed very well and built well.

Kills You’re Battery
Haven’t had to use it and I hope I never do but I followed the instructions and came out the next morning and my battery was dead. Had to use my jumper pack to get my truck started. If you leave your vehicle more than 24 hours without starting it it will kill you’re battery.
