Upgraded from 1 to 5 star review due to AWESOME Customer Service
Purchased 2 of these units one week apart in March 2022 to power our new 5th wheel RV. These units are super powerful and easily ran our RV with 3 AC units during the brutal Phoenix summer months. They were really easy to set up and we have used both gas and propane to power (husband is a contractor but didn’t really need special skills to set up.) We rotated these 2 with our existing Westinghouse Wgen 7500 generator to provide 24/7 power during triple digit heat as we are boondocking on raw land with no utilities.Unfortunately, from day 1 the first Duromax unit used excessive oil. In August the first unit died and could not be repaired. We submitted a warranty claim online. During the delay between claim submission and receipt of the new unit, we spent over a thousand dollars renting a Honda generator (super loud and gas guzzler). The week after the new unit was delivered the 2nd unit died. After submitting a 2nd warranty claim, I went onto the Duromax website and submitted a 1 star review detailing all of our issues since purchase.Within 15 minutes I received a phone call from Brandon in Customer Service at Duromax. He apologized for the delay in replacing the first unit and the overall issues we experienced, expedited the replacement of our 2nd unit AND sent us a reimbursement check for the full amount we paid to rent a generator. He also provided his email and direct phone number in the event that we had any further issues.Since then, they have shipped us new carbon brushes, AVRs, an electric starter and other pieces needing to be replaced for regular maintenance. For the number of hours they are used, it is to be expected that parts will wear out. They cost us nothing as all were under warranty. We know that we use our units alot more than most. If you just need an emergency backup unit for a couple of days here and there, you will love these generators!Customer Service has made us big fans. These generators are super powerful and half the price of the “comparable” competitors (we did alot of research). The replacement units have not had the same oil issue, so we may have just gotten a bad unit.No equipment is perfect. We really appreciate that once they were aware of the problems they stepped up to make us whole and ensure that we were happy. Thanks Duromax!FYI, we tried a Predator generator from Harbor Freight. It lasted 1 week and we returned it.

XP13000EH – Great Generator At A Great Price
Edit 9/30/24Generator is running great still. Lost power at 5:40AM due to remnants of Hurricane Helene. Power companies are trying to restore power and probably had to shut off adjacent grids to make the repairs.Edit 7/23/22We recently upgraded to a 3 ton compressor & evap coil (same air handler) due to the previous 2 ton compressor dying a slow death. The 3 ton compressor uses about 1000 watts more than the 2 ton compressor. The XP13000EH can easily handle the extra load. To help with turn-on surge, I turn the air handler fan from AUTO to ON, this way the air handler is already running and when the thermostat calls for AC, only the compressor will need the surge current to get up and running in that split second. With both HVAC units running the load is about 6000 watts, so I have approximately 4500 watts to run the rest of the house, which is more than sufficient to be comfortable when the power is out.As far as sensitive electronics, the only issue I have had is with a UPS (back-up power supply), but other than that, the 13000EH runs everything just fine, no issues. Desktop & laptops use a switching power supply, so those kinds of supplies don’t need a perfect sine wave to operate. My old school air handler (regular squirrel cage motor)runs fine of the 13000EH too.End of edit.We bought this generator based on other reviews and it has been dependable and powerful. One item that I wish they would address possibly in future models or a change is the muffler; it is a bit loud, but other than that, the generator is awesome. We live in north central North Carolina where power is fairly reliable, but has gone out periodically more than I thought it would and purchased the 13000EH as a whole house generator. The 13000EH is connected thru a 60 amp transfer switch and runs the following with ease:Two 2-ton HVAC heat pump units with gas furnace assist1000 watt microwave ovenStandard size fridgeTwo chest freezersHome office and networking equipment (computers, printer, etc)TV, Dish receiver, audio equipmentVarious LED lighting and ceiling fansTwo bedrooms (lights and receptacles)Although some reviews have stated that the THD of this generator (this series in general) is higher than some other more expensive brands, we have not had any issues with our computers or other electronics being run off of the 13000EH.The generator has about 50 hours on it. It easily pull starts even though it has an electric starter too. Very happy with it’s performance so far. I have only run it on gasoline so far, not propane, but do have propane tanks as a secondary fuel source.

Good to have a backup…
I purchased the DuroMax XP13000EH Dual Fuel Portable Generator 13000 Watt Gas or Propane during Amazons Black Friday Prime event and so far, it’s been a great purchase. Right now, I’m still in the break-in period for the motor, so I haven’t operated with a full load, but everything is performing flawlessly and as expected. My 5-star review is based on these pluses…Great instructions in a printed manual plus que cards for easy initial assembly and start-up.3-year consumer warranty and a service center within 30 miles.Good mfg. website and support, plus an active FB group page for general info and questions.Overall quality and features that I wanted. The only minuses worth mentioning… (and they’re minor and don’t change the 5 star status)The supplied propane hose is short, and a longer hose would be convenient.A trickle charger lead either on the panel or a pigtail to hook directly to the battery would also be nice.I’m very pleased with the purchase of the DuroMax XP130000EH Dual Fuel Portable Generator and plan to use it for home power backup and anytime I need 50 amp portable power.
