How has EMP Shield been tested?
Isn’t a nuclear explosion required to create an EMP?
The threat of an EMP is the large amount of electricity that is induced into conductors that generate heat and can be destroyed. There are only a few testing facilities in the world capable of producing the same amount of electricity that an EMP produces.
EMP Shield has been rigorously tested at the Keystone compliance facility which is a federally approved testing facility that is used to conduct many of today’s most advanced and rigorous technological tests. Out testing and evaluations conducted at the facility were documented in depth to show the true ability and durability of the EMP Shield. Below you will find the complete Keystone Compliance testing results of the EMP Shield.

Peace of mind
This is a whole house surge protector that shunts voltage spikes from lightning strikes, CME solar events or an EMP. The documentation indicates that it has been tested by US Military, see their docs for specific information. This device is relatively easy to install. I am not an electrician and had no difficulty installing it but I would join with others and recommend that you get an electrician’s advice or help. This device along with additional ferrite ring cores for your incoming lines (from other sources) is about the best protection you can get. It is pennies on the dollar for the protection to your homes myriad electronic circuits and devices.

The Unit Came With Easy To Follow Instructions
We purchased this EMP Shield – Home EMP & Lightning Protection + CME Defense for Flush Mounted Breaker Box for protection of our home electrical equipment in the event of a solar Coronal Mass Ejection event. We have already installed one on our truck so we wanted to protect our in home electronics and appliances. It seems that we are now currently in a solar time of many solar flares but we have been lucky so far. Back in 1859 the Carrington Event occurred that caused wide spread fires along the route of the telegraph stations across America. Today such an event could put us back several hundred years with no functional electrical grid to maintain our society. Trucking and mass transportation of food and materials may stop altogether. So we didn’t want to be exposed to that risk. The unit was simple to install to both legs on the load side of a 20 Amp breaker, and the ground and neutral wires to attached to the bars. I mounted the unit just below the electrical panel and the two green leds indicate the EMP shield is functioning properly. I recommend this well engineered CME/EMP protection.

Easy to Install with Basic Electrical Knowledge.
I removed the circuit breaker panel. Installed a new double 20amp breaker to connect the EMP Shield to. This was done to have a clean circuit with ZERO load on it. I mounted the box to the inside of circuit breaker panel with 2 self tapping sheet metal screws (not included). Mine is wired and installed like “Figure 7” in the instructions. The only difference is the new double 20amp breaker installed on the bottom left side of the panel. I verified both L1 and L2 LEDs were on and monitoring the circuit. If you don’t know what you’re doing working with electricity. STOP and pay an electrician, it will save your LIFE and keep you from possibly burning your HOUSE DOWN!!!I got several estimates so people here will know what to expect. The low estimate was $250 and the upper estimate was $325. This is in North Texas.

A little piece of mind
You never know when the electric grid will go down. We had this shield installed by our electrician (not a DIY project). Just another tool to help keep you comfortable and safe in your home. Hopefully, it will never have to be activated. Am giving it a five-star rating because I’m expecting top performance if and when it is needed!

Hope this help you decide
I am a verified purchaser and have no affiliation with EMP Shield other than purchasing their product.I gave this item 4 stars because ultimately, I won’t know if it works until I get hit with either a High Altitude EMP, Coronal Mass Ejection (CME), or lightning strike. However, I did as much research as I could to include reading the EMI Test report from Keystone Compliance which evaluated the device for: MIL-STD-188-125-1, MIL-STD-461G & MIL-STD-464C and passed. It’s also conforms to UL 1449 standards. Further, I also read DHS’s Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Protection and Resilience Guidelines for Critical Infrastructure and Equipment and EMP Shield is listed as a vendor supplying EMP rated filters and suppressors. These reports are all listed on their website with links to the source. The owner also has an informative one-hour interview on YT discussing this product in detail.I also watched videos from Dr. Arthur Bradley (empdoctor), who has dozens of videos and testing on this subject and is not affiliated with EMP Shield. Unfortunately, he has not reviewed this product to my knowledge, but his research is consistent with what EMPShield claims to accomplish, especially if you further harden your plug in electronics (especially microprocessors) with Broadband EMP Ferrites, which is also recommended in the DHS report. Dr. Bradley recommends the Siemens FS140 for surge protection with Ferrites on the AC supply lines to the electric panel, and as I mentioned, individual ferrites on the AC plug in for each electronic device. Unlike the Siemens FS140, EMP Shield claims to block the E1, E2, and E3 energy from an EMP, and confirmed by Keystone Compliance, which is why I bought it. BTW, the Siemens FS140 is almost as much on Amazon as EMP Shield and not half the price as the previous reviewer stated; if you purchase from Amazon vice their website.Installation is pretty much as advertised, although unless you have two adjacent and open slots in your panel, it’s going to take you more than “10 minutes or less” to install the 2 pole 20 amp breaker. So, do your own research and decide.

Military tested
I have it installed to protect all my electronics as well as my solar system. Can’t say it worked. Lights are on. Hope I never will need it. It gives me peace of minds knowing it is installed.

The unknown
With all the issues around us I wanted something that would protect my electronics in my house. May it be Lightning strikes or emps that our government talks about I’m covered. Hopefully. Who knows. It has a $25,000 guarantee. It’s not cheap.
