Love that this not only doesn’t use strange harder-to-find batteries as well as the fact that it comes with a couple of AAA batteries to boot, so you can start using it right away. Having an idea of your pulse ox from day to day can be extremely helpful when keeping an eye on your health. My daughter has a rare lung disease so we like to keep an eye on her sats. We didn’t even realize she had the disease until low sats were noticed at the doctor when she was a baby. We’re also up at high elevation here so it can be helpful to know if elevation or illness etc. is making your oxygen saturation even a little bit lower than usual, as well as being helpful for exercise tracking.This oximeter could not be easier to use, just pop in the 2 AAA batteries, place on your finger and turn on. Comes with a lanyard to attach. Display is nice, crisp and bright. Can be easily flipped over (for someone across from you to read it) by a tap of the button. For all the health related things you might want to use this for, a good value for the price ($14.99 at time of review).

Quick results and super convenient to track blood oxygen and pulse rates.
This pulse oximeter has been perfect for helping me track my heart rate before, during and after my anxiety attacks. I have been keeping track of my heart rate every hour I’m awake along with during and after an attack and was previously using a blood pressure cuff style machine that took much longer and involved me sitting down to put it on and wait for the results. I can use this oximeter anywhere and it’s small enough to fit in my pocket, purse or around my neck using the included lanyard. The results pop up in seconds, just push the button to turn it on and insert my finger, it literally couldn’t be easier or faster. Other than anxiety I could see it being useful for many other medical and personal reasons.The oximeter itself is really nice and well made. It doesn’t feel cheap at all. The LED screen is bright and I like that the blood oxygen and pulse numbers show up in different colors. They included the needed AA batteries and a long lanyard which was nice and I had it set up and ready to go right out of the box. Overall, it’s a great oximeter that is well made, is easy to use with fast results and it’s the perfect size to always have on hand. Highly recommend.

Easy to read, could be a better grip
This meter does the job mostly. The LED is easier to read than others I’ve used. The spring action that holds the clamp to your finger is not very strong however. In order to get a decent reading on myself, I have to try several fingers and then eventually have to hold the meter more tightly to my finger (I do not have oversized fingers). In all, it does the job you need it to.

I’ve used it after workouts and during recovery, and the readings have been consistent. I’m not sure what made me so happy. When I opened the box and saw that there were batteries. But boy oh boy, did it make me happy!It was instantly ready to check my numbers as soon as the batteries were insurance. No inconveniences no extra trips to the grocery store, just to get the power I need!Overall, this is a very nice pulse ox.It is easy to get up and running with a simple on off button and it’s ready to go. You slide it over your finger, and within a few seconds, it gives your oxygen levels and your pulse.It is very small, very convenient. You can keep it in here, purse or medical box, it also has a strap that you can attach to it to hang it, which is a good idea. Because it is so small, it could get lost easily. And sometimes when you need your Pulse socks, you need it pretty quick.The screen has big numbers, which makes it easy to see. They are bright and colorful. Overall, I give this 2 thumbs up! It works great.!

I ordered this because I have an upcoming surgery and was curious as to whether or not I will need to make sure my nails don’t have any press on’s on. Silly reason I know, but still I was curious. I found that this thing doesn’t read 100 for me, the highest I got was 98. Which might be because of the press ons I have on. As for functionality – you simply press on the on button to turn it on. Stick your finger in and wait about 7-8 seconds (depending on how fast you count your seconds right? lol) and then it gives you a reading. The reading changes as time goes so keep an eye on it. It’s neat that you can press the power button one more time and the numbers reverse to show the numbers to the person in front of you rather than readable by you. Neat little trick. After about 7-8 seconds of it being off your finger it automatically turns off. Handy little thing!

Turn On AFTER It’s Placed on Your Finger
The Espoo Pulse Oximeter comes with the two AAA batteries that you need. It also comes with a lanyard that you have to install and a users’ manual. I initially got readings that didn’t seem right so I consulted the users’ manual. I was using the Espoo wrong. You need to put the oximeter on your finger and then turn it on in order to get an accurate reading. Doing this gave me readings that seemed correct for me. My husband and adult son also tried it and agreed that it seemed correct for them too. This oximeter can be read by the person wearing it or you can turn the display around with a touch of the power button so that it can be easily read by health professional or family member. I think that is very cool! The display is very bright and easy to read. Note that the colors of the display are red and green in case you have difficulty with seeing those colors. This is a great gadget for people to keep on hand to check their oxygen level and pulse rate.
