Good for a kiddo allergic to everything!
My 3 year old has a lot of environmental allergies, including cats and dogs (we have one of each), as well as pollen and grass so having windows open in the nicer months isn’t so great for our kiddo.We’ve been using this air purifier for 8 months now and it has been working so well. The filter picks up so much stuff from the air. We notice a difference in our kiddo when his filter needs to replaced vs when it’s relatively new.The unit itself if pretty compact and easy to move around. My kid likes to keep it on the loudest setting so it acts as a white noise machine for him too.I’d say this is a good option for someone with environmental allergies!

I like that this air purifier doesn’t take up much floor space, the narrow tall profile is better than another one I have. Its very quiet on the slow speed, but gets progressively louder on each step above. I’ve got it in our bedroom so run it slow at night and fast during the day. It doesn’t move much air on slow. I don’t know how much a UV light adds to killing virus, but on the slow speed there should be quite a bit of exposure time.When the UV light is running there is an obnoxious blue light that makes it impossible to use when sleeping. I’m very sensitive to light, and any blue light in the bedroom makes it impossible to sleep. I don’t use the UV at night. Likewise the control panel is blue LED’s which are too bright for me. My other air purifier allows you to turn off all lights which is preferable. I cover the control panel on this one with a small book. The top is flat enough it stays.I looked and the air filters are available on Amazon, as is the UV lamp.All in all this is an OK filter. Better than my other one if you want the UV lamp, and its compact.

Germ Guardian HEPA Filter: More Noise Than Results
This Germ Guardian air purifier promised cleaner air and odor elimination, but it delivered mostly noise and frustration.Sound Issues: The first thing you’ll notice is the noise. It’s incredibly loud with a high-pitched whine that’s borderline tinnitus-inducing. Forget about using this in a bedroom or any space where quiet is desired.Filter Frustrations: Germ Guardian forces you into their proprietary filter system with no pre-filter option. This means you’re stuck replacing filters every 3-5 months, which adds up quickly. Even more annoying, the different filter types seem to be purely cosmetic, with no real difference in performance despite the color variations.Ineffective Odor Control: The biggest disappointment is the lack of odor elimination. While the unit boasts a UVC light (which I have doubts about its effectiveness), it’s rendered useless by the poorly designed filter. There’s no activated carbon or any real odor-absorbing material, just a thin sheet of what looks like black paper. This means odors linger, defeating one of the main purposes of an air purifier.The Only Positive: If I had to find one good thing to say, it would be the inclusion of a UVC light. However, without a proper filtration system, its effectiveness is questionable.Overall: This Germ Guardian air purifier is a noisy, expensive disappointment. It fails to deliver on its core promises of clean air and odor elimination. Don’t waste your money on this unit. Look for an air purifier with a proper activated carbon filter, quieter operation, and a more cost-effective filter replacement system.

Definitely what I need to help keep my home clear of dust and other particles. Like the cooling effect when the unit is on.Also like the ionizing and quiet mode setting for night time use. 🙂
