Perfect ultralight or bushcraft
This poncho liner is incredible. So versatile. Perfect for ultralight packing or bushcraft.Of course it converts to a sleeping bag. Don’t forget to wear the hood in sleeping bag mode.It works great as a coat too. Just leave it buttoned like a sleeping bag, but undo the middle button (a cross from the hood). After putting it on still folded in half, wrap a cord, belt etc. around your waist (over the poncho liner). This doubles the insulation and keeps it around your body like a coat instead of a blanket hanging off of your arms.A zipper would reduce this function. So snaps are better for me. I have also found that leaving the top snaps undone and draping like a blanket works better as a sleeping bag, which seems like it would spill more heat, but seems not to. This and a sil nylon tarp as well as a poncho only weighs about 3 lbs total, and replaces a tent, sleeping bag, coat and rain gear. Add a light weight sleeping bag for winter and use the poncho liner as a bag liner. I like the poncho and tarp because the poncho over the liner (like a bivy cover) in addition to the tent tarp is great as a system for bad weather, plus versatile in so many other ways.I will buy more. This is very well thought out gear. Thank you.

Great for unexpected weather events
I had the iClimb Hooded 3M Thinsulate Insulation Warm Camping Blanket stored in my SUV for emergencies, and it came in handy during an unexpected snow and sleet event. I wasn’t sure how well it would handle cold and wet conditions, but it kept me warm and dry. The 3M Thinsulate insulation provides enough warmth without being bulky. At 6’6″ and 265 pounds, I had enough coverage without feeling restricted. The hood helped keep my head and neck warm, which made a noticeable difference in staying comfortable. The outer material repelled moisture effectively. Despite being out in sleet and snow, it didn’t soak through, and I stayed dry. The ability to wear it as a poncho made it easy to move around while staying covered, and the snap buttons kept it in place without slipping. It packs down small and doesn’t take up much space, making it practical to keep in a vehicle or take on camping trips. It’s lightweight but still provides enough insulation for cold conditions. The stitching and materials seem durable, and I didn’t notice any weak points after using it.This is a useful blanket for emergencies, camping, or outdoor events when an extra layer is needed. It’s not as heavy as a wool blanket but works well for cold and damp conditions. I’ll continue keeping it in my SUV for unexpected weather events.

Useful
I have one minor issue – the hood attaches with snaps, and they are sparse, leading to fairly large gaps. However – I am loathe to give this item fewer than five stars, because it is otherwise perfect, and in my opinion, a bargain at about $50.The quality of materials is excellent – think high quality sleeping bag, but a little heavier and more robust. Inside and out are “slick” – nothing that will pick up brambles, thorns, etc. Workmanship is likewise excellent. Quality-wise, there is nothing at all to complain about. The item is very … configurable? Flexible? Adaptable? I’m not sure what the best word is here – but it can be contorted to serve many purposes. I originally was thinking camping … and I may get another for that purpose, but I think I’m putting this one in my car – it would be great for sitting in a camp chair on on bleachers at a game, or archery practice, or any of myriad other activities my kids are into. It would be IDEAL for roadside cold weather comfort in the event of a breakdown or accident. I can think of so many uses – will probably end up with 3 or 4.After using it a few times, I’ve also come to realize that the whole hood thing – I don’t really care – it’s more useful without it, to be honest – so the gaps are of no concern at all.I should disclose that to me, this is a novel product – the closest I’ve ever owned or used to it are a) sleeping bag, b) heavy puffer style jacket, c) snuggy, and d) poncho. It’s “adjacent” to those things – but is its own novel thing – and very thoughtfully designed and useful.

Surprisingly comfy and warm
I wore this while waiting for the heater to warm the house this morning after a cold front moved in. It was surprisingly warm and comfortable for something so light and packable. It covered me up nicely and you could feel it warming up in under a minute. It didn’t take long at all for me to be quite warm even though the house was still cold enough to see our breath each exhale. The hood and hand pockets were a nice addition. It is very soft fabric. My only issue with it was getting it back in the attached stuff sack (which has its own mini stuff section in the bottom corner of the blanket/poncho… pretty cool idea)… the fabric is slick so like any slick fabric, getting it to stay rolled up while trying to stuff it into a small bag was a bit annoying… but it did go back in the stuff sack after a bit of trial and error.I haven’t tested the ‘water resistant’ part yet but I don’t plan on wearing it in the rain anyway. I have military ponchos for that (hopefully this will fit under them)Overall I really like it

Warm, Lightweight, Packable, No Complaints
I recently took the iClimb Hooded 3M Thinsulate Camping Blanket on a camping trip, and it performed amazingly well. The blanket is very warm and lightweight, thanks to the 3M Thinsulate insulation. The detachable hood and hand pocket were a nice addition, but it did take a minute to figure out how to put it on correctly. The blanket is pretty easy to pack down into its small stuff bag. It’s also machine washable and dried quickly. Overall, it’s a great addition to my camping gear, and I’ll definitely be using it on future trips.Pros:- Warm- Lightweight- Detachable hood- Hand pocket- Easy to pack down- Machine washable- Many usesCons:- Takes a moment to figure out the various wear options- Fabric can be noisy
