Tastes like home cooking!!
This is hands down the best shelf stable/freeze dried beef stew you will ever try! It’s enough for a small meal on its own, or could be paired with something else to really fill you up. It’s definitely hearty and delicious, especially when you are camping. Having Mountain House meals like this while camping/hunting/hiking is amazing. There’s nothing like being able to boil some water, add it to a pouch, then having what tastes like a nice home cooked meal while you are out in the wilderness. Especially in the winter! They are expensive though, so look for the sales. But the fact that it’s good for 30+ years makes it worth it. I love this stuff!

Good product
My family uses these all the time for camping and backpacking trips. Taste good and easy to fix. Cost is a little high but quality.

Not Too Bad
Perfect emergency or camping food. I added little less water as the instructions stated. Let it sit then added more water according to the stew texture I was aiming for. I didn’t mind the taste at all – good to have those canned-type veggies. The meat wasn’t too bad for freeze-dried. Overall taste was good. Salt content very high in case you’re watching your sodium intake. I just ate half of the bag and saved the other half in a microwave safe container. I added little more water the next day and poured some of the liquid out hoping to lower the sodium.

Perfect Comfort Food on the Trail
This beef stew is my go-to for camping trips. It tastes like a home-cooked meal, even when I’m miles from civilization. The portion size is generous, and it’s packed with flavor and nutrients to keep me going on long hikes. The freeze-dried packaging makes it super easy to carry and prepare. A great option for anyone wanting quality food on the trail!

Freeze Dried Meals last 25+ years. One of several gluten and dairy free options.
I bought it for emergency use in the future. The packaging was sturdy and undamaged. I have used this brand before and found it tasted pretty good.

Decent, but disappointing.
I was looking forward to a hardy beef stew…. but this was disappointing. It was decent, but not the rich flavor I normally get from a good beef stew.
