Great weather radio for anyone!
This weather radio works very great! Antenna receives weather radio stations very well and so does the external antenna it comes with. The red SOS light flashes during alerts and works great. It’s easy to program and will sound a siren for alerts in your area. I would recommend this to people who are considering to buy a weather radio.

Everyone should have this
Good volume so you can always hear it. We get severe weather alerts from this very clearly has back up batteries in case of power outage. We don’t have local storm sirens so this does the job.

Works well.
This is a radio for catching weather alerts and it does that just fine. I wish it had a light dimmer so one could not be disturbed at night with the brightness. Small clock feature is too small for using this as a clock.

Dies Quickly
We bought several to place around our office. While the product worked right out of the box and was simple to set up, within two months, the first one died. We are now 5 months out and two have just stopped working for no reason. Looking into other options as replacements because this is not worth it.

Weather radio
Radio works great. The instructions for setup are a little vague in the configuring of the SAME and alert station but after some trial and error it is working as advertised.

A must have for emergency preparations
I recently purchased this weather alert radio for my 10 year old daughter. She is really into weather and we also live in an area that gets high wind and down trees. So we both won with this one. It has a S.A.M.E program which stands for Specific Area Message Encoding which makes it flexible to pick up up to 23 county codes. It was pretty easy to plug in our county code and we continuously receive all National Oceanic & Atmospheric reports. It has customized warning modes. My daughter like the external warning light it came with. Sure enough a week after getting our weather alert radio we received a warning for high wind and possible power outage in our area. No trees fell and our power was fine. We were glad that we had an opportunity to prepare thanks to the MD-319.

Not up to snuff
Worst reception of three radios I have. Voice message volume won’t come up enough to be heard across the room.

Good So Far Will Update When I Get a Realtime Alert
Basic instructions OK except terms used during programming are not exact enough for me in places. (And I love to tinker.) During testing phase I used loudest volume settings for alarm but a bit disappointed. My old one could alert me all over the house. Waiting to see how Verbal vs Siren alert works. This one would scream too long (5 mins.) until push a button to get verbal info. Instructions says Verbal alert will give loud verbal report that I want but until I get an alert I won’t know if it will at least alarm a bit first and then go verbal even if I don’t press a button. Who wants to run down stairs awakened from sleep to push a button to know why?
