Keeps Raccoons out of the Barn
I manage a retail farm store and due to forklift damage to the barn doors, raccoons were coming in and doing a tremendous amount of damage to feed stored there. I placed one around each gate of the yard where the raccoons were coming in and it has been working wonderfully. I set it to the dusk to dawn setting and it activates in early evening when the raccoons first get moving. It is loud and has a long range. It really sends the little vandals running in the opposite direction. So far it has solved the problem without having to resort to trapping. Happier solution for all involved. They are definitely a good value for the money. The other four I placed in areas around my own property to deter predators. Last spring a mountain lion took a peahen and we have had issues with other predators over the years. I have had no losses since installing these alarms.

So here’s the scoop..
I bought these to keep critters away from my coup at night. They actually work, although I can’t use the solar aspect because the coup is under shaded trees, but the plug in usb recharge works well. I only have 3 at the coup, so I rotate them out each week. The siren is loud. I can easily hear it from 100 yards away (which is how far the coup is from the house , 287 feet), and likely loud enough to hear easily at 200 yards away. The motion detection part also seems good. Here’s my issue, but not with the devices,…it doesn’t bother the racoons or possums one little bit. They climb the 8 foot 4 x 4 posts and go right into the run with sirens blaring. Fortunately, the chickens are in the coup behind an auto-close door. What they are after is leftover food scraps I had dropped off for the chickens. So, I have to make a second trip back to get the remainder before dark. While I wish the coons were stupider, and thus these devices would be great, I’m stuck with an effective device that isn’t effective. I’ll have to consider other options.

WAY too sensitive for my application.
The motion sensor picked up traffic more than 40′ away and continuously false alarmed. There is no way to adjust the sensitivity.Favorably (except for my neighbors until I could remove them,) the siren is very loud.
