High Quality and Effective!
Here is my very first impressions of the leaf eater, since I’ve only used it for 2 days so far.1. Build Quality = 10/102. Innovation = 10/103. Adaptability = 10/104. Value for Money = 8/105. Functionality = 10/101. Very well built, doesn’t feel cheap. Sturdy, looks good.2. Well designed for the purpose. Collected a lot of leaves and prevented them from getting into my tote system. Easy to knock off leaves, disassemble if necessary, clean, and arrange for different types of setups.3. Different adapters are provided for varying pipe diameters. I saw a review that said it didn’t fit standard sizing. I don’t know what they are talking about. I have a 3″ PVC DWV first flush pipe that it fits PERFECTLY to. I think it also has 2 and 4″ adapters that came with the unit. What more can you ask for….4. Personally I think it is a little overpriced. $30 or $40 would be ideal…. But (maybe I shouldn’t say this), I might be willing to pay a little extra if I know this is going to last for a long time and will continue to do a good job.5. It does EXACTLY what it says it’s supposed to do and does it quite elegantly. We’ll see how it continues to work over the spring and summer seasons and if something happens that pisses me off enough to come back and change my review, I will. But for now, this product gets 5 stars from me.

Leaf eater advanced review
This is a great product. We harvest water off of the roof of our log cabin. We purchased six of these for all of the downspouts from our gutter system that runs around three sides of our log cabin. I really like the removable screen that can be removed no cleaned with ease. It really captures most of all of the debris coming down off the metal roof and keeps insects of all sizes and shapes out of our water supply. This particular unit can also be configured to point straight down or to the rear at a 90 degree angle depending on your needs. The reason for the 4 star rating??? I deducted one star because this doesn’t fit tight into schedule 40 pvc which is what I use for my water harvesting system. So I had to return all six and create my own fittings to work at the point water enters into my harvesting system from my metal roof. I am sure there are adapters or something can be used. And if there is a greater ga- where the water can flow freely into your system then these would probably work for you. But if you have a wet system and the clearance form roof to tank inlet is 12-18 inches… these ya not work for you.

Working so far
Installed on a 2500g tank. Easy pulled plug on tank and stuck it in. Rain gutter drains into this. No junk in it yet.
