SOS rations
Portable taste fine and have a long self life only problem is I hear some people have had a failure of the vacuum seal. I have not seen any yet. I’m going to seal in myler pack with Oxygen absorber added to make sure since it is cheap and easy. Buying in bulk helps to keep the price down FYI I;ve ate these 3 to 4 years after the 5 year self life under good storage conditions and they were still edible. Note this was house storage so ymmv.

Inspect them closely to see if there is a vacuum leak.
Regular flavor. Well, I like the taste which to be was sugary enough. All of mine were Aug, 2024 production giving the full 5 years of shelf life if stored within the proper limits.I read a lot of customer reviews, and I had an issue with the vacuum seal being no good on one of the bags/pouches. You can read what other customs said yourself. They refund quickly.I did not care as I was going to open one of them anyway to try them out so I just picked the one with the vacuum leak.Note the box arrived battered and barley tapped together. Each of the bags/pouches weighs 1.6 pounds. That means 5 of them weigh a total of 8 pounds. That is a weight that the however they are shipped gets to throw around. Hence the loss of vacuum seal on some of them.

I was hesitant due to these being listed as coconut flavor because not everyone likes coconut. But, there is no noticeable coconut flavor. Tastes like a cookie. I prefer these emergency rations over mre simply because of its compact size and the ability to eat on the go. One pack being like eating 3 mre’s, but no prep time. Now, I wouldn’t expect to live off these for long periods of time. But, for emergency rations they’re perfect.

8 year review
I’m not all that knowledgeable about prepping etc. So take my review with a grain of salt. I bought these in 2016. All of them are still sealed and vaccum has lasted. One of them lost vaccum so I tossed it. I’m gonna buy more to add new stock but I am not going to toss these away. These are very dry and should be fine if vacuumed. Use smell and taste as my guidance if ever needed. Also, one packet lasts 3 days for one person. Totally worth it. I had tried the one that I had to open/toss due to vacuum loss, and it tasted sugary, fatty, and dry. Works for me. I’ve stored them in cool places and hot (in car) and they’ve been fine. I love the buy, store, and forget nature of these. I don’t need to overly complicate it for myself, just calculate a basic food necessity calculation based on amount of people and store.

Seller awesome….bars good…well good except for one thing…
So I ordered 5 packs of these because of the great reviews. One of my 5 packs arrived without a good vacuum seal. The seller promptly refunded me the cost of the package…by promptly I mean within a few hours of my request which was as fast as any seller I have ever seen…so kudos to them! Now why did I only give this 4 stars? Because I missed the description of flavor. So at first the flavor is pretty good but the flavor finishes with a strong coconut flavor and even has the crunchy bits of coconut left in your mouth. So I hate coconut…so thats not so good for me. If you like coconut then these are for you. I will donate these to a friend of mine who said he likes coconut. Apparently I missed this fact when reading the description…so docking it a star is a little unfair but hey…I hate coconut…

Better than I expected. Will buy more.
I was not sure what to expect with these. I wanted something to keep in my vehicle emergency kits and also have something to throw in my pack on hikes. These seemed like the better option of lifeboat rations. I ordered 5 packs to try out and like any prep you should try it out before you need it so here is my experience with these.First. Opening the packaging is difficult without any tools. There are “open here” slits in the side of the packaging but the way it is vac sealed and folded it is very difficult to tear open. I gave up and punctured the bag with a screwdriver. I like that these are individually packaged compared to for example the walmart rations that are a solid brick. And considering that one package is meant to last a single person 3 days its quite convenient that they are all wrapped. Imagine hiking in the woods lost with an opened pack that needs to last you 3 days. The inside of the packaging is slightly greasy feeling. Upon opening, the contents smell like sugar cookies. The bars are slightly stuck together from the tight vac packing. The inner wrapper on each bar is thin and easily opened. Upon first bite I was surprised how good these actually tasted. As far as survival rations go these tasted quite pleasant. If presented with your average store bought cookie or these I would reach for these. I did not get the coconut flavor as much as others mentioned. Perhaps a little coconut flavor left over after its gone down. Because of the high amount of sugar and fat in these I can see how they would give you a good quick boost of energy but maybe with a crash afterwards. Obviously they are pretty low in actual nutritional value but their purpose is not long term survival food where you eat these and only these for the next 10 years. They are meant to give your body energy in a short term situation to hep you survive. I did feel that even though they seem like a dry cookie upon first glace they really did not make me thirsty after eating a whole bar. When you consider that these come packed in durable mylar packaging with a good amount of actual food and wide temperature range and decent shelf life this product is a good value. I will purchase more of these.

Tasty
They all arrived well-sealed, though the foil packs themselves are a little fragile. I cracked one open to see how they tasted, and I liked it. I mean, they’re basically little individually-wrapped, dessicated bricks of sugar; what’s not to like? Great to have in your trunk, cellar, or go-bag.
