Customers say
Customers find the product works well and charges batteries from dead to full. They find it easy to install and simple to operate. The build quality is good, with solid panels that provide a good amount of energy when paralleled. However, some customers have issues with the included instructions, which lack specific details about mounting brackets and wiring.

works great
i agree with other reviews, the instructions are not clear and came with hardware that cannot be used. but i figured it out, mounted solid, paired with 2 car batteries and an inverter. it a great setup, i’d buy again.

Excellent starter solar kit – everything you need
I bought this kit to strap to the roof of my excursion, which has about a dozen lights that drain the battery every time you open a door, and consequently will kill my battery if left unchecked. This setup isn’t ideal for a smaller vehicle – a flexible panel would be better suited, but my roof rack has plenty of room for the full-size panel. I bought the ‘RV kit’ with plastic corner pieces that mount to your application, and they would indeed work well on a larger RV roof. You won’t get amazing performance from a single 100w panel, but even on cloudy days it’ll hit 13+ volts with what amounts to a trickle charge, which is more than enough to keep my battery healthy. The actual installation wiill depend on your application, but you can’t really get it wrong – the plugs and included wires are black and red, and everything just plugs into the voltage regulator. You’ll need to route these wires to your battery somehow, and honestly, the included battery leeds are fairly long but you might need to get longer cables because they’re not really long enough to get creative with your wiring. But since it’s a low-voltage DC system, any decent copper wire bigger than like 10 guage should be enough to work.YMMV but this little kit is simple and spare, there’s not a bunch of extra crap to worry about – you just mount the panel and plug everything in. Depending on your needs, it won’t take long to get it all working. A single panel is not enough to run a large power inverter, but these panels are basically infinitly expandable with the right wiring, so once you have the 20A regulator, you can add like 6 panels without needed to upgrade. good luck, and may you have sunny skies out there!

Works well
I use this panel to charge a 35ah battery that powers LED driving lights, that I installed in our livestock barn. It’s overkill for the battery but was actually cheaper than the 50w model. It works well, controller works well too. Be sure to put spacers between controller and mounting wall, it has a heatsink on back and needs some airflow.I did not us the mounts, they wouldn’t work for the location I picked out (wasn’t going to put holes on my roof)Fair price, quick shipping, fairly simple install, controller took a little fiddling around to figure out the screen/settings but nothing to difficult.I’m sure this would easily charge a much larger battery.I did not want to run power out to lights from the controller, I’m sure it would work fine for one or two, but we will eventually have four switches and eight lights.

Worked better than expected
I was using this to charge a DIY electric generator which consisted of a deep cycle battery and inverter. The solar panel produced 90-108 watts consistently and worked well to recharge the batter. The included charger worked better than expected and was easy to setup. Just be sure to follow the instructions and hook up the battery first.

Great value and quality
Very light weight and easy to install. I’ve had these installed on my trailer in Arizona for a few years now. They continue to bring in consistent power and have worked great. The quality is great and sturdy. For the price of these panels you cant beat it. Would definitely recommend

PV fails just after a month
Easy to set up, worked great for 4 weeks then the change controller stopped working. Bought this kit because I just wanted an easy all in 1 to deploy. In the end I’m going to have to buy a better charge controller. For about double the price you can get a 200w solar panel and a mppt type charge controller with tons more features than this kit. I bought a Topsolar 50w kit for my gate almost a year ago, that still works great, not sure why this unit failed so soon. Now that it’s past the 30 day return I have no recourse, the solar panel still works and outputs within spec, so at least it’s not a total loss. Going to try out the AMPINVT 40A MPPT controller with this kit with a few more 100w panels. So far, in my case, with Topsolar products it’s a 50/50 if their products fail after a month of 24×7 use. If you like the convenience of all-in-1s, I recommend getting a kit with a mppt type charge controller rather than a pv, they have more features and are better quality.

Topsolar 100W 12V Solar Panel Kit
Purchased approx 2 yrs ago. Solar panel kit arrived on time and packaged very well. I bought as an experiment for my shed. Instructions were clear, installation was quick. It charges only one 12v battery that runs lights and misc tools. Impressed @ $100.

Good panels, lousy QA.
The panels are decent, and provide a good amount of energy when paralleled together. The pros: the size and shape combined with the mounts made this panel the ideal choice for mounting on the side of my house facing the sun, eliminating the need to touch my roof, which I’m not a fan of drilling holes all over.So far so good on power generation and they hold nice and firm in the mounts.Cons: I’m not sure who’s packing these things, but the first 2 panels I bought came in a thin box with very little to protect the panels inside. Also, the screws and brackets are just tossed inside the box with washers flying around as you pick it up from outside after it was delivered. This same situation happened for both panels. The boxes don’t fair well from the trip from its originating point. In my opinion, all it would take is one careless delivery driver somewhere along the way tossing the box onto a hard surface. The box is thin and very little care seems to be taken with the packaging up and sealing.I did however just buy a 3rd panel. I’m fearful again, but we shall see. It should be noted that aside from a missing nut, bolt and a couple washers from both boxes, I had enough to get done what I needed as I had extra washers at home. The panels did come perfect with not a scratch even in that thin box, so that’s why I’ll go again.Cheers!
